Spyware

Think you have spyware?

Data Security has certainly become a hot topic in today's world of connected computers. We also know that data security no longer only applies to the corporate world. The connected world of the Internet now demands that we think broadly and intentionally about how to provide Information Security.

Malicious hackers and virus writers can take advantage of low security settings in your e-mail and Web browsing software to infect your computer. They can do this by sending you a malicious e-mail message or by enticing you to visit a malicious Web site. By increasing your security settings, and your knowledge, you can help limit your chances of being attacked.

Think about it. Years ago, data security responsibility was neatly tucked into the IT department. We used our networked computers without any real concern about information security. Today, however, everything we transmit through the Internet has the real potential of being seen by countless foreign eyes. This includes your personal information contained in emails, chat sessions, messaging services, attached documents and online purchases.
