Here are brief instructions for setting up Microsoft Outlook Express to work with a theopenworld e-mail address. These instructions should be relevant to all current versions of Outlook Express. There may be slight visual/wording differences between versions but the underlying procedure is the same.

1. Load Outlook Express.


2. From the menu bar select 'Tools', then 'Accounts'. In the window that opens, select the 'Mail' tab.


3. Click 'ADD' and then select 'Mail'. Enter the name you want to appear on outgoing e-mails from you. Example: John Smith or Mr J Smith. Click 'NEXT'.


4. Enter theopenworld e-mail address you wish to add and click 'NEXT'.


5. Type mail.freeola.net into the POP3 incoming mail server name box and smtp.yourISP.com into the SMTP outgoing mail server name box, which is . Click 'NEXT'.


6. In the 'Account Name' field, type in your user name and in the 'password' field enter your theopenworld password.

7. Your e-mail address is now set up in Outlook Express ready to send and receive e-mail.

Note: Outlook Express has a great deal of on-line help available by pressing F1 when in the program.
