Jpeg A Jpeg file is a way of storing high-quality photographs on the Internet. The file format was developed by the Joint Photographic Experts Group (Jpeg), and provides a way of compressing images so that they can be downloaded more quickly. You can recognise a Jpeg file by the filename extension .jpg (for example, myface.jpg).
